First time after my egg cracked that I went and bought men's shirts.

And four of them at the same time.

Well, when I say "men's"... pink, purple, black, and dark aubergine with a shine – probably not really typical for men (but then again, this is Munich and the Italian influence is huge).

But – and I can't state enough how close I was to it – I nearly bought a three-piece tweed suit; OMFG the gender that that suit gave was unbelievable. Unfortunately/Fortunately, I don't have the spare Euros for it.

I've talked about the fluidity of my gender. However, I'm starting to think it's less fluid than I thought. I'm now beginning to think the fluidity is heavily tied to the gender intensity. My gender does have a fluid element but the changes of the label take place along a continuum that also measures its intensity.

During my "production-phase" I imagine the Universe going back and forth on whether I should be a man or a woman. It kept changing its mind again and again, over nine months, until it was time and then the Universe gave up and said to itself: "You know what? Why not let them decide – on a 'case-by-case-basis', to say? And when they don't decide, let them be neither..."

And so I was born, on a cold winter morning, on a Thursday at around 9ish in the morning*. And lo and behold, some idiot saw what was between my legs and decided for me, because that idiot was deaf to the Universe's voice.

*: no, it is NOT my birthday; my biological mother remembered it was in the morning and that it was snowing outside. She also remembered that it was a Thursday. But she neither could remember the month nor year, so we had to do some calculations and came up with a probable date, taking into account that my biological father was a Guest Worker in Germany during those times and my mother was in Turkey, so we had to calculate and so on and so on...

I just came across one of my old essays [I called them "Thots"] on #Personhood, written on February 3, 1982.

"I look at myself and what do I see? I see a person. Not a girl, not a woman, not a homo sapien, not a citizen, not a statistic. Just a person.

I am wearing dark blue knit stockings, slightly faded jeans, a plaid shirt, and an old denim vest; and somehow, these things are part of me. I am not just wearing them -- they are an extension of my persona. Persona. Personality. Not girl-ality, woman-ality, homo sapien-ality, but PERSON-ality. Ah, at least someone out there agrees that I am a person and things that pertain to me are person-related. I like that.

When I 'am' a person, there is no pressure for me to think or behave a certain way. I can just be me -- relaxed, comfortable, happy. I also feel that my style of dress sometimes reflects this person-ness. At least it does as I am writing this [still true].

Also, being a person, I can also be whatever else I feel like being. I can be a feminine person, a masculine person, an eccentric person, a nice person, etc. The possibilities are endless.

Which would you rather be? A fixed label or a flexible person?"
