Here's the video that's inspired my thoughts today. I'm finding it wonderfully accurate, especially since the creator indicated he is younger, and I don't fully agree on its commentary on GenX parenting styles and how that's affected GenZ — BUT even that definitely has me looking for gaps in my observations. (I'm a GenX parent of kids that were younger millennials.)
I found the conclusions validating and hopeful. And I found recognition of GenX's overlooked yet necessary contributions, and the acknowledgment that we'll continue to be overlooked in the historical eye.
It didn't focus as highly on how we introduced the value of authenticity into the cultural conversation, but it does allude.
"[GenX] didn't teach the world how to believe. They taught it how to see clearly."
That's a topic I've ranted about and will rant again.
