I did a brave thing. I never do this. I'm not great at decorating but this cake was screaming for a happy decoration. I separated my frosting into 5 parts, after spreading a thin crumb coat on the cake. I added different amounts of yellow gel food coloring to each bowl, then put them in piping bags with star tips. Randomly covered the top of the cake in stars, all in various shades of yellow. Is it perfect? No. But I still think it looks sunny & lemon-riffic. #food #FuckYeahCake #baking #gf

I decorated a cake for our dessert later. Gf chocolate cake with chocolate frosting, crushed roasted salted peanuts pieces on the side. Originally I frosted it without the peanuts & thought it looked sad so I threw it in the fridge & I googled sad looking cakes & felt better about myself. Decided that I needed to add... something along the sides of the cake to cover the plainness. I was out of frosting. What goes with chocolate? Peanuts! It worked! I'm happy. #food #FuckYeahCake #gf

Today I'm making gluten free English muffins. I've never made them from scratch before. The dough (like most gf doughs) feels like a thick paste. I took eggs & butter out to come to room temp to bake today but instead of doing that, I worked. It was a long week and I usually work light on Fridays, but my boss is back from vacation. We had a lot to communicate. I'm also out of Cup4Cup, my favorite #GF flour. Husband found out that was one of the reasons I didn't bake so he bought me 16 (!!) lbs of it on Amazon.
