Alot going on from #GKIDS.

Today, #TheColorsWithin is released in North America to select theaters. This is a movie from #ScienceSaru about a girl who can see colors in people. And makes a band with two other teens.

On Feb 28th, NA theaters will get #Gundam #GQuuuuuuX, the beginning of that story. Made by ppl from EVA, Utina, and FLCL.

And In March, #GhostCatAnzu is coming to #BluRay & 4K. It will be released digitally 1/28.

I saw 化け猫あんずちゃん「bake neko anzu chan」aka "Ghost Cat Anzu" at the earliest screening I could theatrically in the USA yesterday.

It turns out, I actually hung out with the director 山下敦弘「yamashita nobuhiro」when I visited Japan circa 1997?

He was a student at 大阪芸術大学 (colloquially referred to as “О̄saka GeiDai” basically an art University in О̄saka) and a friend of one of my high school friends who was in Japan on JET (Japan Exchange and Teaching Program) at the time.

Anyway, it’s anime (and apparently his first animated film? Most of his work has been live action) but I would say: unorthodox as far as character designs and voice acting and has a very international crew (some are referring to it as French-Japanese, but the credits have Koreans and more as far as what I observed).

I’m not sure how widely it will be screening. It was at the Regal in Fairfield (which is like, North of Richmond & Vallejo in the Bay Area).

Hopefully it will be screening in more places theatrically.

I thought it was fantastic!

A very charming movie on a lot of levels.

I have been waiting a while for this. So I am excited. I'm prob going on my vacation next week. As showings seem to go thru Nov 20.

GKIDS announced today it will release Ghost Cat Anzu in theaters nationwide starting November 15. The film is the first collaboration between animation artist Yoko Kuno (BEASTARS) and live-action director Nobuhiro Yamashita (Linda Linda Linda).
