My 25 years of palaeoart chronology...

In 2020 I illustrated LOCKED IN TIME, written by Dr Dean Lomax - Palaeontologist. Here's my "Natural Born Diggers" painting, depicting two young Lestodon playing in the dirt and adults digging tunnels behind.

Some time ago I designed this small poster on Eremotherium fur and heat adaptions. With such an incredible range for the genus during interglacial periods, one can only speculate how the biggest of giant sloths dealt with hot and cold climates.

A trio of giant ground sloths showing a gradient of hot and cold adaptions. These include nearly naked to heavily furred.

Have you heard the one about giant ground sloths eating avocados and pooping out the seeds? Well, it’s a myth. My research is focused on busting that myth. We’re hoping to get a paper out soon, but for now, here’s our poster from #2020SVP.
