Day 25 cont ☢️☢️☢️

#Nationals ☢️ MP accused of ‘fobbing off’ #Gippsland constituents concerned by Dutton’s nuclear plan ☢️:
#DarrenChester had called for ‘conversation’ around #PeterDutton’s ☢️ #nuclear policy☢️, but several constituents say their attempts to raise concerns have been ignored”

A reminder the Liberals and Nationals have no nuclear ☢️ policy. This includes storage of waste, contamination and natural disasters like floods, earthquakes, fires of cyclones.

There is an increased risk of #measles in the greater #Melbourne area, with a number of new exposure sites identified.

A growing number of measles cases have acquired their infection locally in #Victoria. There is also an ongoing risk of measles being imported into Victoria by travellers returning from overseas or interstate.

These recent measles cases have been infectious while in public settings at multiple locations around greater Melbourne & #Gippsland.

If you look at the ground you can see all the cracks in the soil.

We need #rain. 😖 #weather

It all seems to bypass us & go to #Gippsland or #Tasmania.

Cloudy with a Chance of Disappointment!

The Gippsland Star Party 2025 at Echo Bend Caravan Park didn’t bring the stars—but it definitely brought the good times! With clouds, rain, and plenty of mud, we traded telescopes for laughs and made the most of a wet weekend.

It wasn’t the starry skies we hoped for, but it was still one for the books.

The Giant Gippsland Earthworm grows up to two metres long. It will die if nicked, so researchers stomp the ground to research it.

Got kids and want to spend a fun day in the #TanjilValley in #Gippsland?

The Tanjil Valley Landcare group are once again holding for the 3rd year running, a fabulous FREE Community Festival celebrating our natural environment. With family friendly activities many of which include interactive, hands-on nature based play.

Aimed at connecting our kids, and our community to nature, the festival coincides with Nature Play Week which is championed throughout Victoria by the Kids in Nature Network.

There will be:
Cubby house building and storytelling using natural materials, with sticks and leaves and branches, kids get creative and even decorate their cubbies with artwork. There will also be other creative activities for big and little people including face painting, small canvas painting facilitated by local art teacher, Jo Draisma. Have a go at spinning wool with local artisan, Marg Robertson and see her knitted creations using local fleece.

This year features even more visits by our unique wildlife with festival newcomers, Mumsupials and festival favourites, Aussie Wildlife Display and Bug Blitz bringing their fuzzy, furry, scaley friends along so we can all touch, feel and learn about our native wildlife. Be sure to join one of their interactive demonstrations, their storytelling is always educational and captivating.

Wildlife Rescue and Protection Inc and the Travelling Vet have been invited to talk to you about how they care for injured wildlife and what to do if you come across one that is hurt.

There are also Peppermint Ridge Farm bush food and Habitat Creations native plant nurseries, Latrobe Valley Beekeeper, Baw Baw Sustainability Network, Gippsland Climate Change Network with displays for parents and adults to learn about the transition to more renewable energies and how to make your home more energy efficient. Including Traralgon Toyota Electric Vehicle display.

Local schools and community groups are also involved on the day, making this event a real community focused family day out. Many previous attendees have enthused over a FREE family outing which kept the kids engaged all day.

All day Live music from a number of groovy bands including, Stuart ‘Nico’ Nicolson, Curly and the Fringe, Saxation and wandering minstrel, Norm Cotterall.
Delicious food from the Willow Grove Lions Club, The Naked Spud, the Hill End Community group and Dream Organic Coffee Van as well as locally grown, organic vegetables and seedlings from Eden Hill Farm.

The festival is proudly run by a small group of Tanjil Valley Landcare volunteers. Our aim for the festival is to produce as little rubbish as possible, so we encourage people to bring their own water bottles, keep-cups and picnic equipment.

On a really hot day in Victoria, I thought a photo of cold water might be welcome. This is Toorongo Falls in the Central Highlands - so that water is freezing!

#Thunderstormasthma warning for #northVictoria #centralVictoria, #Gippsland regions.

Victoria's chief health officer says there is a high risk of epidemic thunderstorm asthma in parts of regional Victoria.
Thunderstorm asthma is when high amounts of grass pollen and a certain type of thunderstorm combine and can cause large numbers of people to develop asthma symptoms.

Gute Idee. Wenn man sowas schon mal hat.
