The human race is an unfair and stupid competition. A lot of the runners don’t even get decent sneakers or clean drinking water.
Some runners are born with a massive head start, every possible help along the way and still the referees seem to be on their side.
It’s not surprising a lot of people have given up competing altogether and gone to sit in the grandstand, eat junk food and shout abuse.
What we need in this race is a lot more streakers.

Me encantó el análisis, muy bueno, y es por eso que creo que aquí es un buen lugar para también compartir algo de mi visión con respecto al tema.
Un poco de contexto, #LinkinPark para mí no es solo la música, les conocí en mi adolescencia, como muchas otras personas, y rápidamente se convirtieron en los voceros de lo que sentía en aquel momento, desde #HybridTheory hasta #Meteora ellos expresaron con fuerza y en canciones lo que quizás yo no podía en aquel entonces. Se convirtieron en «mi banda».
En aquellos tiempos logré compartir un poco el gusto por la banda, hice «amistades» por así decirlo. Pero muchas de ellas de repente dejaron de escuchar Linkin Park cuando salió #MinutesToMidnight y la que sería su canción de album emblema #WhatIveDone. «Linkin Park había cambiado» según muchas personas y me di cuenta que sólo se quedaron, probablemente, con el video clip de la canción, que en aquella época me recordaba a lo que más o menos #U2 venía sacando, además que la misma fue incluida en la película de #Transformers, parecía que nadie más había escuchado el resto del album donde #BleedItOut o especialmente #GivingUp todavía hablaban de dolor ¿Había menos gritos? Tal vez, pero la banda crece y lo mismo pasaba con nosotres, ya no éramos aquellos adolescentes que solo miraban su propio dolor y sufrimiento, o el de nuestras amistades cercanas, se supone que crecemos para expandirnos y, al igual que la banda, empezar a interesarse por otras cosas. Al menos creo que así deberían haber sido las cosas.
Yo en cambio escuché cada album, tomé cada mensaje y lo volví mío porque la banda aun en mi adultez no dejaba de expresar mis dolores, porque de eso se trataba todo el mundo lo dice #ChesterBennigton convertía su dolor en canciones y ahí conectábamos muches.
Luego Chester se fue y yo nunca pude ver a Linkin Park, mi última oportunidad fue en el 2017, en el #MaximusFestival de #Argentina y no logré ir.
Ahora aparece una nueva oportunidad de manos de una nueva vocalista que ni por asomo pretendo que sea Chester, nunca lo pretendí, pero es una cantante que está rodeada (o al menos lo estaba) de polémica y esto para mí, a nivel personal y por todo lo que he expresado, es muy importante porque parte de los dolores de Chester tenían que ver con abuso, y se dice de #EmilyArmstrong que «defendió» a un abusador en la corte. Ella ya dio su respuesta ante eso, personalmente me supo a poco pero sigo dándole el beneficio de la duda (también con el tema de que sea cienciologa) pero no tanto por ella sino porque quiero creer que la banda, que #MikeShinoda y los demás, no aceptarían una persona que fuera totalmente en contra y opuesta a lo que Chester era no solo como músico sino también como persona.
Emily puede ser muy copada, muy grosa, pero supongamos que hubieran puesto a otra persona que sonara exactamente igual que Chester al punto que el sonido no cambiara nada en absoluto, pero que se tratara de una persona nefasta. Para mí no vale, puedes sonar muy bien pero si vas a hablar de dolor y ser alguien que lo fomenta o que es cómplice no es más que pura hipocresía, yo no te escucharía por más épica que seas porque no apoyaría una persona así. Por el momento Emily tiene mi «sí» como cantante, y por lo otro sigue todo en un gran «veremos»
Todo ésto es mi manera personal de ver las cosas y solo quería compartirlo. Si algo de lo que he dicho les mueve o les interesa ya saben, escriban y que la cosa crezca de manera linda :)
Y por el momento sí estoy escuchando el nuevo album y estoy considerando ir a ver Linkin Park en noviembre cuando vengan a la Argentina porque quizás también, superados ya todos los juicios, esta sea la revancha a la oportunidad que perdí durante tantos años.

Spent too much trying to get Wireshark working on #Fedora #Silverblue. Virutalbox too. Gnome Boxes had terrible performance running a Windows 10 VM, and kept crashing.
The Wireshark Flatpak doesn't capture traffic, and after installing another package and rebooting, the users/groups reset or something and Wireshark stopped working. Also got some ostree error saying something about not being able to hardlink "to Changes: File Exists".
At least it was easy to fix with a rollback.

This bozo.
This bozo had a heart attack at 24. It was due to bad genes. However, when he had his heart attack at 24, he thought his entire life was over. This thought led to panic attacks. He had to take medicines, both for his hearth and his mind. Eventually, the panic attacks subsided. However, he is still on heart medicine. Luckily, he’s now on a heart medicine that nullifies his genetic defect. Did he give up? No.
This bozo then started experiencing the symptoms of cancer at 47. He was 48 when he was diagnosed. He came very close from dying of this cancer. This caused a resurgence of the panic attacks, but he went back on medicine for them. The treatment for his cancer was no walk in the park. Was there shit? Yes, there was shit. Was there vomit? Yes, there was vomit. Did he lose his hair? He lost a bit, but it mostly stopped growing for a while.
During his treatment, this bozo was on a rail. The only thing he could do was to let the health care professionals do their job. Though he did complain when, at times, the job wasn’t done right. A very low point was when he was slumped in the shower, with the water running over his back to wash away the poison he was now sweating out. This poison was necessary to ensure the cancer would not come back. Did he give up? No.
This bozo is now on psychiatric medicines, at low dose, most likely for the rest of his life. However, he is now a little bit over 2.5 years in remission.
Now, this bozo is not the type of person to come tell you to think positively. How you think does not matter, so long as you don’t give up. Scream at the top of your lungs if you feel like it. Cry if you feel like it. He’s not here to change your mood. He’s also not going to say I did this, therefore so can you.
All this being said, however, he’s definitely here to tell you to not give up.
Just don’t give up!
