Chile has numerous glaciers, approximately 80% of the glaciers in South America. Climate change is accelerating the melting of Chilean glaciers, causing mass loss and fragmentation.
On World Environment Day, it is important to recognize the natural environment and understand how our actions affect the entire planet.

Greenland’s melting ice caps reveal the true extent of climate change.

In recent decades Greenland – 80% of which is covered with ice – has recorded a loss of frozen mass that outpaced previous estimates by 20%.
