Here's how the filter works which sorts out corporations/chains from the search-results on our map:
Per category a list is generated from all locations in various big cities. When a certain name shows up an x amount of times it get's a 'mention'.
Then, all mentions are checked manually to see if it's actually a company and not something like 'bakery' or 'shoes' etc. If it's valid it get's added to the list.
There, that's the magic under the hood. Pretty basic. 😊
Today is independend bookstore day.
On our map you can search for bookstores, and they will all be shown, regardless of zoomlevel.
This is what Lokjo is all about, showing non-corporate stores. Because -in contrast with big corporations- they actually DO support everybody's economy.
