Do any of you #Graphic #Artists want to sketch a recurring character from my short stories?
If I use your rough sketch for the headliner, you will get full credits but no money. If I build enough stories of this character for a book of her own, I will use your completed drawing/image as the cover, and pay and give credit. Joy is a little girl, a very stabby psychopath, but also polite and attentive

If you are interested, I will share three stories in which Joy appears.

Here is her debut intro

Joy felt most emotions in pastel hues, and some not at all. When her puppy died suddenly of distemper, her mom and little sister were devastated and neither slept well nor felt grounded for days. Joy accepted the death as a factual event - something to note, but that's all. She watched her sister's intermittently heaving shoulders with interest, and her puffy and bloodshot eyes with curiosity, but was more interested in catching her favorite reality-tv show. It was this muted expression of emotion that freaked Jane out most about her oldest daughter, but then she would have been far more alarmed had she known the things that crossed Joy's mind on a regular basis, and that murder always seemed like an option when dealing with people who annoyed her.

Joy understood how social norms worked, and mostly respected them. She did so only because she wanted to, rather than any sense of compulsion or social pressure. Her mother didn't understand how this little girl of twelve could be so sweet but also so uncaring at times, and above all, so unrepentant for doing wrong. It wasn't that Joy denied sneaking into a neighbor's home when they were away, but that she seemed to simply not care that it was wrong. Then there were the blank stares and the mask-like face. Sometimes Jane would turn to find Joy standing with her arms slack at her sides, her face blank, and just staring at her.
