I was away for most of August, so haven’t created any new artworks for a little while. I have lots of ideas though so watch this space!

This is a painting that I created earlier this year based on a photograph that I took at the Park Campus in Cheltenham.

Park Stretching Greylag is a small landscape-orientation pointillism-style watercolour painting of a greylag goose with its wings outstretched. At the bottom of the painting there is a section of dots in shades of pale brown and cream to depict a pebbled path. Above this is an area of grass in different shades of greens. There is a goose standing on the right-hand-side of the painting, facing towards the left. The goose is painted in shades of grey, with orange legs and beak. Its wings are outstretched, with the feathers on the underside of its wings painted in darker shades of grey. Beyond the duck is a pond painted in loose horizontal lines of dark olive green to depict ripples on the water.

Drei Graugänse fliegen vor blauem Himmel von links nach rechts. Sie befinden sich fast genau auf der Diagonalen des Bildquadrats.

In der Stunde vor Sonnenuntergang kommen die Gänse aus den Leinewiesen zurück auf ihren Schlafsee. Wenn so ein Schwarm über den Baumwipfeln auftaucht, die schon anwesenden Gänse zur Begrüßung auffliegen und die ganze Wolke sich wieder auf dem Wasser einsortiert, gibts fast unbegrenzt viele Versuche für Fluggänsefotos.
