Gli azzurri hanno concluso il girone con quattro vittorie su quattro e sabato alle 20, ore italiane, affronteranno nei quarti di finale Portorico, secondo classificato della pool A.
Al 'Daikin Park' di Houston contro il team messicano il grande protagonista è stato capitan Vincent Joseph Pasquantino che è diventato il primo giocatore nella storia del 'World Baseball Classic' a mettere a segno tre fuoricampo in una sola partita.
