On our Channel Island-hopping holiday in 2016, we took this view of a distant Jersey as we headed toward Guernsey.

We have a photo of two halves. The bottom half shows a deep, blue sea with the odd tiny white crest on a wave suggesting it's choppy conditions. The top half is a light blue sky which shows some light cloud cover near the horizon. In between these - and almost imperceptible - is a sliver of green and grey land, being the island of Jersey on the horizon.

The sky is clear blue but hazy with heat and the sea is calm. Bright, hot sunshine bakes the scene.
