The initial release of wolves will occur in the #Vail, #Aspen, and #Gunnison regions, with meetings planned with nearby landowners before the animals are released. As we've reported in previous newsletters, Oregon was not Colorado's first choice for wolf sources; originally, populations in Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana were considered ideal, but those states declined. Washington may be another potential source, pending approval from state wildlife commissions.

Fortysomething aged two sisters and the minor son of one of them were found dead in #Gunnison National Forest in #Colorado by hiker.
