Mehrere brennende Mülltonnen

#Haida  Aus bisher ungeklärter Ursache brannten Sonntagmittag drei Mülltonnen auf einem Wohngrundstück in der Elsterwerdaer Straße komplett nieder. Der Schaden beläuft sich auf circa tausend Euro. Verletzt wurde dabei niemand. Die Polizei hat die Ermittlungen aufgenommen.

Schuppenbrand

#Haida  Feuerwehr und Polizei wurden am Samstagvormittag an den Dorfplatz gerufen. Dort brannte es in einem Schuppen. Personen wurden nicht verletzt, die Feuerwehr konnte den Brand schnell löschen und verhindern, dass die Flammen auf Gebäude übergriffen. Nach ersten Erkenntnissen war Restglut in einer Feuerschale der Auslöser für den Brand.

But here's what we do know.

The Cherokee and Haida, like the Polynesians, Walabunnba, and pre-Zoroastrian Iranians, recognised two alternating seasons. Unlike the Polynesians, they did have a concept of years, and would express their ages by saying how many winters they had lived through.

The Haida definitely measured time by the phases of the moon before colonisation. If the Cherokee did as well, that knowledge has been lost.
