Isolated #showers and #thunderstorms will be possible in the #Northland Thursday night, with a few having #hail and gusty #winds. Low #temperatures will be in the 40s and 50s.

Friday will be #dry during the daytime, but a widespread #severe #weather event is looking likely for Friday night. An easterly wind will keep highs cooler by #LakeSuperior.

The satellite and radar over the Northland at 1:30 p.m. on June 19, 2025, shows a scattered line of showers and a possible thunderstorm or two over the tip of the Arrowhead, extending south across Lake Superior and covering the Bayfield Peninsula and Ashland and Iron counties.  They are moving to the east.  Another possible few showers are passing through the I-35 corridor in Aitkin and Pine counties.  The rest of the region is seeing mostly clear skies.Temperatures in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on June 19, 2025, range from 52 to 78 degrees Fahrenheit.  The coolest readings in the 50s and 60s are in the Arrowhead, Twin Ports, and Bayfield Peninsula regions.Wind speeds in the Northland just after 1 p.m. on June 19, 2025, range from calm to 12 mph.  Wind direction is primarily from the north and east.The Storm Prediction Center has the southern half of the Northland, those locations south of Highway 2, under a slight risk for severe weather the rest of June 19, 2025.  The rest of the region is under a Marginal Risk, minus the tip of the Arrowhead.  The greatest risk of any thunderstorms that form and pass through through Thursday night will be large hail and strong winds.

The view of the radar over the western half of the Northland at 4 p.m. on Monday, June 16, 2025, shows a line of showers and thunderstorms extending from Koochiching County south through Itasca, Cass, and Crow Wing counties and farther south through central Minnesota.  It is this line that will see the development of strong and severe thunderstorms, which will push east through the Northland the rest of Monday.
