Second day with the #Stryd, and it is interesting to see the difference between what Stryd thinks my pace is compared to what the treadmill thinks my pace is.

#Treadmill runs are undoubtedly more accurate in terms of changes in pace now, just suprised how much slower they are than the treadmill's values.

From what I've read, sounds like the Stryd will improve it terms of accuracy after I've got some more outside runs in, so I'll keep following the plan as it is for now, but try and get more outdoor runs in.

- running is harder with 8lbs of stuff in your backpack
- rain makes everything heavier. See my previous point
- not every run is a race, and it’s ok to run slow
- it’s interesting to watch the arc of my mental resilience over the course of 6.5k

Out on the #run again this morning. Plan called for “0-30 minutes”, so I aimed for 20, exceeded that just a little. Focused in on breathing, trying to maintain a good clip while only breathing in/out through my nose. Seemed to work, generally, and the pace didn’t suffer (avg 5:09/km). Off to get #tattooed today, and there’s a day off booked in the run schedule for tomorrow, so I’m going to use that to my advantage. #running #runnersofmastodon #halfmarathon #halfmarathontraining

Well, I'm back on the running plan again. Just signed up for the Frontrunners Half-Marathon Clinic, with the target race being the Oak Bay Half Marathon in late May. My PB for the HM was done on that course, hoping to best it. Plan looks very reasonable for the next 19 weeks!

Very happy with today's (very) long run of almost 15 miles and most of it at my anticipated race pace of 10:30min/mile for the SF Half Marathon coming up in 3 weeks.

I was a bit down about going out for a run this morning, but it was great!

It was my longest distance and longest time so far - 6.9km and just under an hour (I’m a beginner, be kind please). The sun was shining and it wasn’t too hot or too cold! Proper Goldilocks territory!

It only gets longer from here, Oct 20 here I come. I love long run nights. (conversion: 8:41/km). If I flipped mile one and two, I’d have had negative splits.

It wasn’t the best time to do a threshold run mid afternoon when the sun was probably at its highest which showed in today’s threshold run. Sunday long run done and a final test of race gear and fuelling ready for my half in two weeks time. 4.5 mile progressive tempo run today. 15 minutes warm up hr zones 1/2, 20 minutes tempo hr zones 3/4 and 5 minutes cool down. On the route I used there’s a deceptive climb towards a major road junction which can take it out of you if not careful which is why these days I prefer to drop my pace so I can save heart rate for the final part of the run.
