Last week, I travelled down to the Sjuhärad region to deliver these heddles to Vävkompaniet and visit Åke Erlandsson, who has been making heddles for them for many years. It was awesome to see some of the heddles he's made and his workshop, where he has crafted several hundreds of them.

You can buy these heddles (and my darning mushrooms) on Vävkompaniet's website. Naturally, Åke's fantastic heddles are also available there! 😄

Here is a heddle called "Sommar". I made the heddle in birch and painted it with linseed oil paint.

This heddle was a side project for almost a year and it feelt good to finally have it finished, the mountain of unfinished items is shrinking or maybe not🤔

I've crossed a weaving milestone! I made my first ever repair heddle. I'd come to the end of my threading and had a warp thread leftover that I shouldn't have. I found the skipped shaft smack in the middle and set myself to fixing it, slowly backtracking and correcting until I got to the spot. And then... I did an Internet search. Bless you, all you experienced weavers who share your knowledge. Voila - I had MADE A HEDDLE.
