Sooo, I set up a #Heimdall dashboard today, and I'm wondering:

Is there a card that lets me display some generic API data?

I can't find one, and that seems like an oversight to me, considering how customizable the rest of the tool is 😅

My old MacBook Pro from 2012 is now an Ubuntu server, running some local services:

- Heimdall dashboard.
- Pi-hole for blocking ads.
- Home Assistant to replace Google Home

#Caturday with #heimdall

just breathed new life into my old Samsung Galaxy S9+ using iodeOS 4.19 (= LineageOS 20.0 = #Android 13).
Comes with MicroG, F-Droid, Aurora and a Firefox-based browser.

Had to first update to the last firmware for this device, e.g. Android 10, using the G965FXXUHFVG4_G965FOXMHFVB4_PHN.zip package. All worked out using the #Heimdall tool on Fedora.
Also installed #TWRP as the recovery manager, even though it does not support encrypted file systems.

#informatique : j'ai remplacé #kali linux par Ubuntu, juste pour essayer le logiciel #GalaxyFlasher . Le fichier python merdouille mais on peut se débrouiller avec Flathub. Et là, c'est la merde au niveau des dépendances...
Ça sert à flasher les téléphones Samsung en gros, comme mon galaxy #s1 #i9000 . Sous Linux, c'est la merde pour flasher les téléphones, #heimdall c'est pas très pratique... Et Odin ne tourne que sous windows..

Hat jemand einen Guten Tipp für ein HomeDashboard?
Aktuell nutze ich Homarr (könnte noch etwas mehr) sein - mit Heimdall und Homer bin ich nicht warm geworden.

I've been using @linuxserver #Heimdall for a few months in my #HomeLab.

At home, I'm just running it with a @tailscale sidecar in #Docker Compose.

I thought I'd try using it at work for our Dev environment. It runs fine in Docker, so surely it'll run just fine in #kubernetes, I thought to myself. Famous last words.

After fighting with it in #k8s for a few hours over some poorly documented reverse proxy weirdness between #nginx and #istio...I ended up switching over to #homepage, and it's "unofficial" Helm chart. It worked first try, flawlessly, with the ability to configure the dashboard via YAML.

Icing on the cake, it's actually got a beautiful UI as well.

I'm sold.

Hell, I might even switch over my #homelab dashboard to this.
