I am having trouble teaching my intermediate #HEMA students to go from techniques and planned steps to responding in the moment to what their opponent is doing (what KDF calls โfuehlenโ).
I am trying to do so by adding exercises that put them in situations with multiple well-defined options (ie short and wide decision trees) but I wonder what other approaches i should take.

My substack is multi-faceted interest wise but I come from an intelligence and anti corruption background. I write about #anticorruption and anti #oligarch focused pieces, why I got DOGE'D, travel, #HEMA (swordfighting) and "lore" about me personally. I'm trying to be more diligent about this and have some really cool ideas coming down the pipeline for my substack next.
Alsoโ I understand the issues with #substack. I've switched to Ghost but unfortunately, as a full time student I can't afford the monthly platform subscription. If people want to see paid content or enough people pledge monthly, moving over would not be a problem.
Some goofy watercolor sketches of my friends and I at HEMA depicted from the 16th century Mair plates of mixed weapons, Halberds and scythes. Once upon a time, I wanted to go to New York's Fashion Institute of Technology or something in the fashion and design industry. I never went through with it but kept it as a hobby. My highschool oddly enough had classes in fashion design and it's where I got the idea originally. I learned basic sewing and sketching for design specifically. Recently I've been getting into goauche. I love sketching my friends and people in general. Funnily enough, I've never had the reverse with anyone sketching and painting me. #HEMA #WMA #watercolorsketch
