Im Zentrum des Bildes steht der monumentale Baumstumpf einer 250 – 300 Jahre alten Hute-Buche. Der Stamm ist knorrig und in etwa 5 -6 Meter Höhe hohl. Dahinter liegen die abgebrochenen Kronenäste. Davor hangabwärts das oberirdische Wurzelwerk und im Hintergrund eine typische Herbstwaldkulisse mit Buchen, Fichten, Moosen und Farnen. Von hellgrünen Buchenblättern bis hin zu dunkelgrünen Fichtenzweigen sehen wir ein Farbenspiel aus frischem Grün, leuchtendem Orange und warmen Braun.

At the center of the image stands the monumental stump of a 250-300-year-old pollarded beech tree. The trunk is gnarled and hollow at a height of approximately 5-6 meters. Behind it lie the broken crown branches. In front, sloping downhill, are the above-ground root systems, and in the background, a typical autumn forest scene unfolds with beeches, spruces, mosses, and ferns. From light green beech leaves to dark green spruce twigs, we see a play of colors ranging from fresh green and vibrant orange to warm brown.
