#himalayan450

(Continuing my #RoyalEnfield demo day notes.)

Second, they had a #Himalayan450 Rally there also. I rode this one while my kid rode the regular 450, but with the accessory touring seat. I loved the 450 Rally. The suspension felt great, the bike was very nimble, and it fit me perfectly at 6’.

Riding the two motors back to back was interesting. The 650 obviously has more torque and you can feel that. However, in outright acceleration they aren’t really that far apart. The 450 revs quick and pull really well up to 8000+ rpm. It has a lot more overrun on the power curve after peak, so you don’t slam the rev limiter as easy as on the 650. For solo riding, the 450 is great and is really happy to plod along at 3k rpm in a higher gear with plenty of willingness to accelerate by just rolling on the throttle.

The seat on the Rally is a little narrow for me and would be a challenge on a long ride. I think would be fine if I were hitting the trails and standing more. My kid thought the touring seat was good.
