The Hellish History of HTML
The story so far:
In the beginning Tim Berners-Lee created the World Wide Web. This has made a lot of people very angry & been widely regarded as a bad move.

Peek at Mount Myth: today’s AI sits on a very old mountain of stories — clay golems, bronze giants like Talos, clockwork servants, robot uprisings, cybernetic ghosts.
For centuries we’ve asked the same question in new skins:
What happens when humans try to put “mind” inside what we make?
Feels like a good time to remember the roots.
Blockchain isn't new. The same trust, verification, and distributed principles existed 5,000 years ago in Mesopotamia. Fired tablets, seals, and scribes were the OG ledger tech.

I really liked Google+. I wanted it to thrive. When it was there, I used to spend equal time on Instagram & Google+. Its UI was nice and clean. I rarely encountered any hatred or negativity on it. Pressing the +1 button was satisfying.

💡 Geeksta Weekly Fact Drop 💡
The first-ever computer bug was literally a bug. 🪲💻
In 1947, engineers at Harvard found a moth stuck inside a relay of the Mark II computer, causing it to malfunction. They removed it and taped it into their logbook, labeling it as the “first actual case of a bug being found.”
Grace Hopper, one of the pioneers of computer science, helped popularize the term debugging and the rest is history!
Crazy to think that software bugs started with real insects. 🧐

Remember when early germanium transistors would thermal runaway? Gave transistors a bad rap in the early days. Germanium is still in use just not in high powered audio amplifiers AFAIK anyway. ;)

I am reminded by another post that Paleofuture is a fun element that Mastodon does not yet have in sufficient supply.
Looks like "himself," Matt Novak, chose not to be active in the fediverse?
Anyway here's the post I saw. More like this would always be welcome IMO:
