I have a question for software developers. I recently came into GUI development, what in machinery is called HMI and SCADA.
What I need to know is how communication between apps running in the same PC works. What I thought by myself was using simple file io systems, or local servers using Modbus TCP. But I know there must be more efficient ways to do it.
In my case, most of the times is because I need to communicate the GUI with the PLC/CNC runtime.
