I helped my son install a wall-mounted, full-motion TV mount, and being a neat-nick, he gave me the "leftovers," the unused hardware that came with the kit. It mainly consisted of several "bandoliers" of plastic bags. Inside these were a rich assortment of mostly metric machine screws and washers in various lengths and sizes. It really helped beef up the meager supply of metric in my workshop, and will save me some trips to the hardware store.

I've had family in town so I haven't spent much time in the shop but I did get about 90 minutes today. Started with the truss rod. I taped up the black palm fingerboard trimmed it close with the band saw. When I hit it with the router, bad things happened. The palm turned into a splintery mess no matter how careful I was.

Plan B, slot a piece of purpleheart and start over. I also managed to get it routed for binding and the side bindings on. Turned into a pretty productive hour and a half. I think I like this better anyway. The flame binding, with just a sliver of purple blending with the birdseye is going to be amazing.

I needed a way to keep the paint fumes from gassing out the family so I built a mobile booth. On nice days I can roll it outside. For not so nice days, I just back it up to my partially open garage door and it works a treat. My wife @lushalot couldn't even tell I'd been painting.
