Good morning tooters. What a difference a day makes, yesterday quite hot & sunshine, today grey, rainy & cool’ish. It was about 13-14c when I got up & it had been raining from the early hours, supposed to reach 24c with the rain clearing this afternoon. That will be good as all my washing is on clothes horses in the garage at the moment, it will dry in there but will take a good 24hrs to do so. If I can get it outside for a couple of hours this afternoon, it’ll make a big difference. Third world problems though 😊.
All in the garden looks lovely & refreshed though. I was starting to think that my transplanted Crepe Myrtle was looking sad & droopy despite my care, but a good downpour has made the world of difference. I’ve decided that if it doesn’t survive I will get another & plant it in the same spot because I’ve realised that where I transplanted it to is the perfect spot to filter the afternoon summer sun that comes straight in my patio glass doors.

Today's fruit cake making adventure was much less successful.
I only had two eggs, instead of the three in the recipe.
It tastes great, but it has fallen apart - it almost certainly needed the egg to hold it together.
At least I'm not entering any competitions😁

I've got the house to myself (& the cat) until mid afternoon, so lots of jobs will at least get thought about - I'm leaving the cat in charge of strategic planning.

Lots of Pink Floyd on Radio Caroline's top 15 this morning which has been excellent.

I'm reeling from the suggestion by a reply guy that Europe might not actually be a single country - who knew? /s

It's wet and very cold here, no sign of snow thankfully.

Right - I need to think about tidying and loo cleaning. And I've got an order for another cake!

Wooden clothespins are one of the most useful things I've found for the household.

They're cheaper and better than chip-bag clips. They're freeze-resistant, so they're great for sealing partially empty bags of frozen fries, vegetables, etc..

If you have window AC units, clothespins are a great way to hold curtains in place around the intake and exhaust.

I'm sure there are lots of other possible uses. You could even use them to hang clothes! 🤣

I almost forgot: since they're metal and wood rather than plastic, they're also better for the environment.
