Morning everyone. The sun is out, and it feels decidedly autumnal when I peek outside. It's Sunday and most of the "must do" jobs can wait. I wish I could say "All's well with the world" but patently obviously it's not. I will try to do my bit to make it better though. This group was cancelling people before it was cool.
The recent authoritarian overreach isn't new to me. I grew up in a religious tradition of the same flavor. One day I want to finish writing about it. But until then, I'm taking the power back. Receiving this letter was once feared more than hellfire itself. For no reason.

We are obligated to survive. Sometimes we see benefits in self sacrifice for the good of others, but usually we stay alive first then we try to help others. I think that's where greed can interfere. What starts as self survival, then survival of my family, then my community, my people, my nation, my "race"—these all come before "others"...
And that's the line. That's the source of human conflict.
