The glass display panel had been adhered to the back panel with a thin, foam adhesive tape. Nothing else at all, no bezel or screws. To open the TV, I'd cut through it with one of the blue guitar picks. I don't have any of the original tape on hand, so instead I went with a temporary-but-functional solution: blue painter's tape. Not my proudest fix, but I'll take it.

Because it all works!

A photograph of a flat panel television, displaying a mountain scene. A time of 1:11 shows in the bottom right corner. Strips of blue painter's tape are wrapped around the edges to keep the glass front panel physically connected to the back panel.

Yesterday I upgraded the wifi card in the thinkpad and reinstalled from scratch, using ansible. Still many holes, but iteration is king.
Also, the tool kit i got from @iFixit, along with their guides,
will never not be useful. #ifixit #runbsd #freebsd

The HMD Fusion is full of possibilities.

It can be a barcode scanner, mobile gaming console, workhorse, or minimalist daily driver; just by swapping the back. And if HMD hasn’t made the outfit you need? They provide the resources to make your own. This is what mass customization looks like!

Add in an IP54 rating, easily repairable design, and a starting price under $300? Yeah. We’re impressed.

This showcases the pin connectors on the back of the phone and front of the joystick, which is how they connect together. The controller's joysticks are offset, like an Xbox or Nintendo Switch Pro controller.

The Galaxy S25 Edge is thinner than a pencil and almost as durable. Samsung pulled off some clever engineering to cram flagship specs into this wafer-thin casing. But at what cost?

Thermal throttling?
Battery exposed to long-term heat stress?
Adhesive-heavy display removal?

Despite a win on battery and port repair, this phone is a mixed bag. The Edge looks sharp, but if you’re planning to keep it for the long haul, you might feel the heat.

Can we get a big Texas yeehaw?!
The Lone Star State just signed the seventh state Right to Repair law for electronics. It’s also the first electronics repair law to pass in a state led by a Republican, but we’re only surprised it took this long.

We’ve always seen broad bipartisan support for these bills. Repair isn’t red or blue. It’s just common sense.

You’ve probably met Torx, the star-shaped screw that has become common in our phones, consoles, and cars. But have you met Torx Plus? It's the high-tech upgrade nobody told you about: straighter walls, zero cam-out, and way more torque transfer. Sounds great, until you try to open your gadget and realize your trusty T5 doesn’t fit anymore.

We explain the difference between Torx and Torx Plus on our blog: ifixit.com/News/110702/torx-pl

Hi, . Let's try to get with and .

I need to figure the marked component on an Nvidia Jetson Orin Nano carrier board (model P3766) because it has blown up.

If you can - please tell me what marking is there or what that component actually is. It had something like TT written on it - that's all I could see.

Thanks a lot! (boosting is appreciated as well 🙏)

@cogdog If it boots in target mode, then you just need the right cable to make the connection. (I fondly remember the days when a simple firewire cable was enough.) There *might* be a way to make a wifi connection, but I wouldn't count on it.

"Dissection" isn't that hard if it comes to it. #IFixit is your friend.

The EU’s new Ecodesign rules for smartphones require 7-year parts availability, 5-year software updates, and repairability info on labels. 🔧

However, last-minute changes limit self-repair by removing user-replaceable screen mandates.

The law improves sustainability but keeps barriers to full consumer repair rights. 📱

With a little de-soldering and heat gun work I was able to remove the old terminal from the PCB. I ordered a singal terminal for $12. It's more than the $5 for three, but I only need one. I also found a guide for this exact system on iFixIt. What luck! ifixit.com/Guide/Klipsch+Prome
