8.9 for offers a new option when sorting items for the integrated slideshow, and that is "Manually".

You use that for Albums which can also have a manual sort order, so you can decide the exact order in which the photos are being presented!

Writing metadata into HEIC files created by iOS 18.x on Apple iPhone PRO and MAX models is much faster now with 8.8.

This was quite tricky, as Apple writes some very strange XMP metadata into these files, but only on these iPhone models.

Finally have my hand-crafted photo gallery the way I want it. No longer must I rely on anyone else’s infrastructure or accidentally poor privacy practices.

Photos start in #IMatch with key wording, pass through #obsidian to link with the rest of my content and end up with a #quartz4 static site looking fine.

#IMatch 2025 has been released. I'll be upgrading for sure with many new features that will be useful for my digital asset management.

I have been a user since 2003. Can't recommend this software enough. Lightroom photo management can't hold a candle to it.

The Controlled Vocabulary window in 8.8 now remembers all "opened" hierarchical for subsequent NeoFinder launches!

That makes it a lot easier to work with hierarchical keywords.

The contextual menu in the Controlled Vocabulary window in 8.8 now includes a search command to locate all items using the keyword in its non-hierarchical form.

That will help you convert existing "flat" keywords to a new hierarchical version.

Q: I am trying to make a smart folder for everything that was scanned with our Cruse Scanner.
Doing a "Get Info" an the file it shows it as Device make: Cruse Scanner, the "file info" of the same file in Photoshop shows it as Camera Data- Make: Cruse Scanner
