BUTT 1.45.0 was just released. BUTT (Broadcast Using This Tool) is an easy to use, multi OS streaming tool that supports Icecast, Shoutcast and WebRTC.

This version adds support for custom URLs and mount points for listener statistics, adds separate MIDI commands for START/STOP Broadcasting and Recording, and adds support for controlling BUTT via MIDI NOTE_ON messages. This version also brings a bunch of bug fixes.

Thanks to my bro Dane, I now have a live stream of all my audio collection! From all my voice memos recordings, my recordings from my DM 720 (which may include radio recordings when I listen to the radio), and recordings from my BrailleNote when I was in school, and when I brought it home to borrow it during the pandemic. All the stuff is being streamed through #IceCast! I have a few ideas of what I could call this, I could name it, Brycys life radio, which is some random name I thought of. These recordings range from 2016 to the present day as of now. Anyway, enough rambling, enjoy!

The tool has the advantage over many CLI tools that it has a graphical levels display.

Does anyone know of a #Streaming app with which I could potentially run an endless playlist with queue functionality like a #Shoutcast / #Icecast server but for local LAN so I could just have a media server run through my media collection folder by folder, file by file, outputting the data in a stream which other PCs can tune in on which isn't fucking #Plex or something else proprietary and networked?
