It's been a slow month in icon making. Some times you need to do something else, so you don't get tired of it.

Currently Plasma 6.3.4 setup on Solus with custom made icons (Inkscape) and AI generated wallpaper.

Paprius Icon Pack Update Adds New Icons, Improves Plasma 6 Support

If you use the Papirus icon theme in Ubuntu you’ll be pleased to hear a new version is available to download. Frequent updates are why the Papirus icon set is hugely popular with Linux users. After all, it’s annoying to switch to a stylish icon set that leaves most of your apps un-themed icons, sticking out like a sore thumb. Not so with Papirus since it’s perpetually expanding its coverage. Papirus’s second update this year adds 69 new icons—nice—and 18 updated ones, makes various packaging and compatibility changes, and removes its ePapirus variants as elementaryOS 8 no longer lets users :sys_more_orange:

The final bit of assets made for Moth Surivors! Icons! A good chunk of the game would be management, so the iconography was going to be important. Besides showcasing the prototype characters, we also have icons for every powerup and pickup in the game, health, xp, money, etc.

New Kitten release 🎉

kitten.small-web.org

• New: Lovely new icons¹ and new callouts in Kitten Settings²

• New: Markdown now supports attributes and bracketed spans³

• New: client-side `kitten` global with `trigger` function for triggering events on the server from the client. (Useful when streaming client-side JavaScript when using Kitten’s Streaming HTML⁴ workflow. e.g., when you have to use a client-only web API like the Clipboard API but you want to keep all your logic on your server-side page.⁵)

• Fixed: The bound render function returned by `KittenComponent` class’s `component` getter now correctly awaits asynchronous templates. (In Kitten, you don’t have to care whether your templates contain promises. Kitten handles all that for you.)

Enjoy! :kitten:💕

⁵ e.g., See how I use this to implement a copy to clipboard button in the database page of Kitten’s Settings: codeberg.org/kitten/app/src/br Of course, you don’t have to use this and you can just write client-side JavaScript or use the built-in Alpine.js integration. e.g., how I do it on the (older) settings/identity page: codeberg.org/kitten/app/src/br

[Callout: pink border, pink shooting star icon.] Use the --domain flag to set the domain when running in development mode. In addition to localhost, Kitten has support for place1.localhost - place4.localhost for testing Small Web apps (peer-to-peer web apps) locally.

Deployment

Here are some ways you can deploy your site when you’re ready to.

Using Domain:

Use an existing Small Web host like small-web.org.
Run your own instance of Domain and deploy using that.
On any computer that runs Linux[1]:

Deploy your site to any server (like a tiny single-board computer or your own VPS server somewhere) using Kitten’s deploy command and point your domain’s DNS to its IP address manually.
For more details, please see the Deploying a Kitten applicaton section of the Kitten Reference guide.

ssh private key

If you add this to the ~/.ssh directory on your computer, alongside your public ssh key, you can ssh into your server.

(Each time your OpenSSH private key is derived from your ed25519 private key, it will be a little different – by 12 characters, to be precise. This is normal and the keys are all equivalent.)

Show and Copy buttonsScreenshot of State:sessions section of Kitten settings. The icon for the section is a clock with dots on its periphery from the twelve o’clock to three o’clock position.

The page has a list of sessions, including a dutotone green rounded checkout icon for those that are authenticated. The other fields include Age, ID, and events. Ages are shown as ~4 hours, ~3 hours, etc. The IDs are random strings (e.g., C8XJabPBVEc0FJoHi18Su6H6) And all the shown pages have 0 events listed.

Last RISC OS icon I created (I think ..)

This is for ungzip, which does just that. Gavin Wraith's drag-and-drop WIMP wrapper (stick) that runs a trivial perl script that calls the gzip binary.

This lets me uncompress gzip files from the GUI.

Stick does the magic of making drag-and-drop happen. The perl script converts a RISC OS filename (foo.bar/gz) into a unix style path (foo/bar.gz) and feeds the path to gzip.

#RiscOS #Icons #GZip #Stick

I forgot I made an icon for !cawf !

A printer that is apparently badly in need of retrobrighting.

#RiscOS #icons

Small and large bitmap pictures of a very yellow printer. It is vaguely isometric. The printer has a page of paper coming out the top, with 2 black lines on the paper. There is a green spot on the printer, maybe a logo, light, or button.

This is the first RISC OS icon I made.

I was working with the last MINIX source release for the NE editor, trying to compile it under RISC OS. I got it to compile but it didn't have the binary blobs needed for RISC OS, like the icon...

At this point I was still confused about where NE sits in the Cambridge / IBM E editor's family tree, so I created an icon that mimics IBM's look.
