Shout-out @iFixit for their wonderful #pixel6a battery replacement kit and instructions.

My wife's phone was one of those that google throttled down because of problematic batteries.

I bought the kit from #ifixit, and, following their step by step instructions, I was able to open the phone, remove the battery, stick in the new battery, and put everything together (the shaped glue tape is fantastic). It took 2-3 hours, not easy, I have to say.

And it works, which I doubted until the end (because of low trust in my abilities, not quality of stuff)

My phone instead is a Fairphone 4... Battery replacement is... 1 minute. I can probably do it with 1 hand, blindfolded 😁

I bought myself an #HMD #Skyline #phone because they claimed ultimate #repair -able.

But I just broke my #screen and now I'm having a heck of a time finding one. #ifixit allggedly carries them, but they don't have any in stock. I just reached out to support to find out if I should buy a new phone at this point, which is... ridiculous. And depressing.

Fortunately it's only the glass that's broken and only cracked in half, but still.

An interesting case today - this Raspberry Pi only had a small capacitor shorted. Frankly speaking that's the first case in my experience when this exact cap gets shorted. And lately shorted caps finally became a thing on Raspberry Pi because that used to be quite common on other sorts of modern electronics.
Thankfully it's really easy and cheap to get fixed, but I wonder what may have caused that if anything in particular?... 🤔

First outing for the #ifixit toolkit due to dodgy keyboard key velocity on the ancient Yamaha PSR-4500. That's a lot of screws, over 40 to take the cover off.
