Jeff began with a slide of acknowledgements (Audre Lorde, @timnitGebru, six or seven others); Sam started with Plato vs the Sophists and moved along.
Norwegian moderator was amazed anyone would think libraries are neutral. No such concept in Scandinavia, she said. "Is that a thing!?"
Wow! I was once a Special Libraries Association member. The library field has certainly changed. At least the American Library Association, IFLA, and others live on, supporting the institution and fighting for righteous causes.

I really don't get it why the @ifla journal is not #OpenAccess. I mean... it is 2024. It's not a new idea.
IFLA says about itself: "IFLA is the global voice of libraries, representing the interests of the profession and working to improve services worldwide."
A voice of libraries that can only be heard by those that can afford a subscription? Until this journal is not open I really cannot take this organisation seriously.
