This is taken from the "Livre de Chasse" (hunting book) of Gaston Phébus, count of Foix, France. They evolve in a lush environment of trees and bushes. The "sky" is actually made of tiny red, blue and golden squares.The text reads "écoute avec ton esprit, plutÎt qu'avec tes oreilles -- Confucius". It means "listen with your spirit rather than your ears". The text has a red "e" initial with a golden accent. It is framed in a golden square, on which two red dragons are intertwined.Two men are hunting a beaver. One man, wearing a green and red tunic, is pointing at the beaver while looking at the other man. He is holding an axe. The other man, wearing an orange and blue tunic, holds a spear. The blue beaver on the bottom right seems to be tearing his testicles away, so the hunters can't kill the poor animal for its musk. They are figured as two orange dots behind the beaver.
