“How much can I speak to without hurting her?”

WaaPaKe (Tomorrow), a new #film by Dr. Jules Arita Koostachin, is having its world premiere at the #Vancouver International Film #Festival on Oct. 1.

It takes on the topic of intergenerational #trauma from the #residentialschool system and the resulting #parenting learned from #survivors.

WaaPaKe (Tomorrow) is also set to screen at the #imagineNATIVE Film + #Media #Arts Festival in #Toronto

“I never thought once I was going too far.”

Hey, Viktor!, a #mockumentary by Cody Lightning, is a #rowdy reference back to Lightning’s earliest days in #movies playing young Victor Joseph in #SmokeSignals.

The film is closing the #imagineNATIVE #Film + #Media #Arts #Festival and will be shown in #Vancouver, #Calgary and #Edmonton as well.
Watch for it in select festivals in the U.S. and in #theatres soon.

“It’s super cute…”

A rebellious little love story inspired by Métis kids soon to stream

Kikino Kids, a short children’s film, will stream from May 20 to May 26 as part of the imagineNATIVE festival.

Kikino Kids comes from the imagination of the youth at the Kikino Métis Settlement. The story is about two kids who fall in love.
