According to AP, the typical pay package for S&P 500 CEOs rose to $17M last year — an increase of 9.7%.

At half of the companies surveyed, it would take the median worker 192 years to make what the CEO did in one year.

This is what I mean when I say the system is rigged.

This CBC article drives me crazy—it’s basically “there’s all this money sloshing around in Canadians’ bank accounts, but no-one’s spending it! NOBODY KNOWS WHY NOT!!”

Then 5 paragraphs down the article says “Lower and middle income households spent much of what they saved during the pandemic, while higher-income households have actually saved up more money…”

So Canadians are *not* sitting on mounds of cash. Only rich ones are.

#IncomeDisparity in the US is at 1920 levels..

The SF Chronicle asked what the richest San Francisco neighborhood is. Not an easy question to answer since census tract data maxes out at $250,000+ median household income. That top tier includes places like Seacliff and my own census tract in Rincón Hill, which has a significant amount of housing reserved for low- and middle-income households.

It's hard to believe that a neighborhood with 20-25% poor and nearly-poor households can still have a median income household income greater than a quarter of a million dollars.
