Dear Friends of Impossible possibilities (and moronic oxen), 🦞

As we may know, not everyone
#thinks or #feels the same. Some don't even do that. #Luckily, we can find consensus amongst those willing to #topologically #stretch their #understanding ... For example:

- Being wrong is a way to find what is right
- Reason may not work in some situations
- Certainty is for the easily fooled
:ablobcatpopcorn:

In other words, we can widen our methodology,
#thoughtful examination and #sense of #incredulity. We can suspend our disbelief whilst engaged in fiction AND return to the real world with a leaning of #learning. A waffle sandwich is the best nutrition for the biting perfecting. All too often, we hear what is important until the next phase of important arises. Time is a good cure for these lapses into the #current #involvement ... :gi:

Dear Friends of the #unrecognised,

#Interesting how:

- The 'Social' part of #social media includes AI bots
- Who are all these #posters of #incredulity
- This is how to #think (you think?) :mindblown:

... or maybe not ... 🦞

To put it all in #context. I will never be #effectively using Nextcloud, Facebook, Twitter and am growing tired of so many new 'experiments' leading our agendas.

Maybe I am just a rat spinning my own wheel to nowhere? #Possibly I need to #reassess daily? Oh wait, I do!

Have a great day everyone who can. Everyone, everything is a story and a kindness to be given ... :ablobwave:

A quotation from Dante Alighieri:

«««««
If, dear Reader, what I tell you throws
you into disbelief, it’s no surprise —
I scarcely credit it myself, God knows,
and I was there.

[Se tu se’ or, lettore, a creder lento
ciò ch’io dirò, non sarà maraviglia,
ché io che ’l vidi, a pena il mi consento.]

Dante - Gustav Dore - Inferno 25.59-61 --
Dante and Virgil in hell, surrounded by serpents, people, and serpents biting people and swapping bodies with them.

Watched Ron Howard's 1985 "Cocoon" last night. I was generally okay suspending disbelief over the core concepts of the story however, my #incredulity would not permit the notion of three patrol craft and two rescue helicopters being deployed to chase down an innocent group of octogenarian pleasure cruisers who are simply going about their evening business.

Roko's basilisk is a thought experiment about the potential risks involved in developing artificial intelligence. Its conclusion is that an all-powerful artificial intelligence from the future might retroactively punish those who did not help bring about its existence, including those who merely knew about the possible development of such a being. It is named after Roko Mijic, the member of the rationalist community #LessWrong who first publicly described it, though he did not originate the underlying ideas.

The basilisk resembles a futurist version of Pascal's wager, in that it suggests people should weigh possible punishment versus reward and as a result accept particular singularitarian ideas or financially support their development.

Despite widespread #incredulity, this argument is taken quite seriously by some people, primarily some denizens of LessWrong.
