Hey, @jerry , by any chance, does a #Mastodon administrator have access to a ranked list of #blocked #accounts by its users?
A cool idea would be to have a #cleanuptuesday or the likes where the most blocked accounts/instances are tooted about and democratically decided to be globally blocked a day later? "Most blocked" as in most blocked by #infosecexchange users, of course.

Did you know that there are email services out there that provides you with no-commitment email addresses?
This means anyone can sign up for various programs without fear of having their information passed around to potentially malicious parties.
While it is good practice to gatekeep personal info, it does hurt smaller business who rely on subscriber lists to advertise their product and services, so use DEAs wisely.

Posted about it yesterday already. But it looks like archive.today shows the default page of #Apache #webserver on #Ubuntu. The alternative domain name archive.is instead redirects with a 301 - Moved Permanently to a new domain krola.org, a website apparently comparing pet rabbit species?? It's also interesting, that the redirect to the new domain responds with an #HTTP header server: nginx/1.18 (Ubuntu). Apparently, the default Apache landing page also returns the same HTTP header information on the server. Perhaps the landing page is a decoy/deflection?

I seem to be missing the typical infosec.exchange (or mastodon) logo on my top left. I can still click it to go back to home but don't see any logo there. 🤔 Seems to show the icon when making the window very small but not the middle sized logo like typically with this size. Have there been any updates on this recently?
(third pic is from other instance with default logos with similar width than the main image that's missing it)
Can someone compare experiences of the #infosec community on #Mastodon and #Bluesky? I am happy here on #infosecexchange , but I am unsure if I am not missing out if I categorically ignore #bsky .

I still find it impressive that basically most of the 🕵️ #infosec bubble migrated to the 🐘 Fediverse quickly.
Most of them settled in the #InfosecExchange instance.
I'm kinda wondering how they managed this.
It even felt like it went quickly too: suddenly most folks just were on this instance. 🤔
And she, a lot of #foss projects like #Frameworks, #gnu projects, #languages were on #fediverse before, but this happened rather gradually while the #itsecurity #community did it kinda sudden.

Hey, @jerry! With all the news on the #TikTok bans, and the change in the #social media landscape in general, I am wondering about something. mastodonservers.net claims this instance has around 30k users. I am sure, there are a few bad apples in such a large group.
So, here is my question: How exactly are you keeping up with moderating the infosec.exchange instance? Is it just free to post anything? Or is there considerable amount of #moderation going on from your side? Are you having some #volunteers on supporting your moderation efforts? Or is it even automated?
Just curious, no judgement. In my years on infosec.exchange, I haven't seen much unwelcomed posts here :)
