Setting up a #dell #inspiron 20 3043 #touchscreen #aio for the #homelab will this be a management terminal for the rest of the network,... Or maybe something for the #kitchen? It's pretty low specs.... 4gb ram ATM, ordering a 8gb stick shortly. Storage wise it had 500gb, upgraded to a 1tb I had laying around. Going to load #debian12 on er and see how she goes. #Teardown wasn't too bad.

Hallo liebes fediverse, ich bräuchte mal einen Tipp: an einem #dell Inspiron #notebook kriege ich die #Bodenplatte nicht auf, um das #RAM zu wechseln. Alle Nasen/Clips sind gelöst, aber die beiden "unverlierbaren" #Schrauben halten die Platte noch fest, sie sind definitiv aufgedreht, lassen aber nicht locker. Man kann die Schrauben jetzt auch nicht mehr fest ziehen, sie drehen anscheinend hohl. Die anderen 6 Schrauben sind i.O.

Was jetzt?

Hab mir heute mal ein altes #Dell #Inspiron 1520 vorgenommen. #Debian mit #LXQt rauf, aber WLAN wollte erst nicht. Irgendwie hat 'contrib' in den Paketquellen gefehlt und damit auch die Firmware Module. Gefixt und dann ne Runde gefreut.
Das Teil ist ca. von 2005 mit Intel #Core 2 Duo T5250 (Centrino). Dafür läuft es erstaunlich fix.

Ärgerlich: Bei meinem neuen DELL Inspiron 15 scheppert der rechte Lautsprecher. Auch beim 2. (Austausch-)Gerät. Evtl. ist das normal... Ich versuch's jetzt einmal mit einem von HP.

He podido conectar las externas a mi vieeeeeja #Inspiron #640m y retomar mis respaldos periódicos con #BackInTime (bendito software) vía #ssh, combinado con sincronización de directorios en vivo gracias a #Syncthing.
La viejita me sorprendió aguantando la carga e incluso permitiendo seguir usándola para "respaldar" listas de reproducción de YouTube :awesome:

Buying advice: I'm considering buying a #Dell #Inspiron 16 Plus #laptop. I intend to run a #Linux desktop on it. Has anyone run Linux on the #nvidia RTX 4050 config without issues? Or should I go for the intel graphics config? Intel config is only i5, so I would prefer i7 nvidia config, but not if there will be driver issues

I had a #laptop come-up this weekend! Got ahold of a #Dell #Inspiron 13 2-in-1, which means the screen folds all the way around making it into a chonky tablet. I just need an ssd and some ram to make it go, and wouldn't you know, a 1 TB ssd and 16 gb ram are arriving tomorrow 🤘🤗💻
