@imagictony @mnutty first Twitter mass migration (November 22), there was discussions as to what to call the Irish mastodon users. On Twitter if I recall correctly the grouping went by #irishtwitter. Anyhoo, with a little discussion the consensus emerged to be #mastodaoine -a mash up of mastodon and the Irish language word for people 'daoine', #mastodaoine... Or something like that. The stuff of legends like John and Jean Mastodon 😀

Well, that’s my Twitter account finally deactivated.
Sad really, as I had made so many valuable and life-long connections on that site and as much as I held out, it’s not what it once was and never will be again, so it was finally time to say goodbye.
Also got me a blueksy account here for any #IrishTwitter exiles who are also on there.
Toot thought rather than Tweet thought: #IrishTwitter hounding anyone who doesn't fit their idea of Irish #citizenship is pretty tiring.
Kinda feel for the guy who reflected on the oddness of getting a citizenship to stay European who's getting dragged for everything from being in the British Army through to bad constitutional amendments made in Ireland.

I made this post last night about a (really badly designed, neoliberal) survey on #ClimateChange from the Irish government on both twitter and #Mastodon at the same time.
