Yes and no.

#Apple's #iPad makes it easy to test, build and sell #CCSS [commercial closed-source software] at a premium.

I mean, I'm happy with my #X230Tablet but I do acknowledge this is an old device and it's rather the exception than norm...

Simply because #Wacom makes good passive stylus and pen-capable touchscreens.

So OFC companies that have the money and resources to build premium #apps will target the premium customers who by virtue ob being able to splash 4 digits on a tablet brand-new will be proven more able to pay for their software.

That's why #Autodesk won't even sell people a #Linux license for #Maya (or any of their other tools) unless one has proof of ownership of a certified workstation (i.e. HP Z-series) with a #RHEL [#RedHat] #Workstation #subscription active to begin with.

And yes they will run the machine's serial # to check if it's ordered with parts that fit their system requirements from the factory and will demand the same for RHEL. I've been there and had to do that before they even consider offering one a subscription!

Compare that to like #AffinityDesigner on #iOS (or rather "#iPadOS") and the fact that basically all iPad users are expected to have an Apple account and credit card linked to it for the #AppStore and it's no wounder the developers of creative apps will focus on that.

The only exception are #FLOSS #apps that are native to Linux and/or got started on other #Unix Systems [#blender started out on #IRIX as CCSS] and serve #macOS & #Windows as 2nd & 3rd tier platforms [i.e. #darktable oftentimes had no Windows builds because none of the devs had or wanted a Windows machine to test on!]

The second largest city in the Netherlands arguably has the best skyline. And it's expanding and extending every year. This shot is from five years ago already, when I was treated to a beautiful sunset sky.

Wonderland of Clouds

We heard there was a Kp index of 7. Excited about the possibility of photographing auroras, my wife and I ventured into Joshua Tree National Park. The aurora was a no-show, but the clouds showed up. To create this night photo, I placed the camera on a tripod. Then my wife and I lit the scene with handheld flashlights while the camera shutter was open for a long time. This is called "light painting." It's more fun than AI-generated images. Single exposure. After this photo, we went to a local jazz club in town.

At the Schoorl beach, there is only very little light pollution from the wind turbines at sea. With so little light around to distract you from seeing the night sky, you find yourself surrounded by thousands upon thouands of stars. You feel so immensely tiny when you observe all these countless specks of distant light.

Au premier plan il y a un arbre au tronc court et au feuillage de forme ovoïde qui commence à se colorer pour l'automne. On peut voir des feuilles oranges au sol. L'arbre occupe un bon quart de l'image.
L'arrière-plan est constitué de montagnes situées de l'autre côté de la vallée, les plus hauts sommets sont saupoudrés de neige. La ligne d'horizon est plus basse que l'arbre.
Le ciel est couvert de nuages rougeoyants au niveau de l'arbre, puis bleu au-dessus.

Espérant qu'il profite de ce que la nuit apporterait comme conseils, Maurice tenta d'expliquer à son voisin qu'il lui serait agréable de le voir, un jour, se coiffer. En vain, tant il est vrai que les frênes sont têtus et peu porté sur l'élégance, au contraire des érables.

Au premier plan on voit un pré dont le foin fleuri est prêt à être fauché. La pente commence en bas à gauche, on y distingue un petit chemin qui se perd quelques mètres plus loin derrière la pente, et elle remonte vers le bord droit à mi-hauteur de l'image. sur cette ligne de pente se trouvent deux arbres : à gauche un frêne à la silhouette informe, et à droite un érable, à la forme typique d'un dessin d'enfant : tronc court et feuillage arrondi. L'érable semble se pencher vers son voisin en contrebas.
Le ciel est très étoilé, bleu en haut de l'image il vire à l'orange vers le bas, du fait de la pollution nuageuse. Il y a quelques fins nuages.

On this line of slope are two trees: on the left, an ash tree with a shapeless silhouette, and on the right, a maple, with the typical shape of a child's drawing: short trunk and rounded foliage. The maple seems to be leaning towards its neighbor below.
The sky is very starry, turning blue at the top of the image and orange at the bottom, due to cloud pollution. There are a few fine clouds.

#Haiku - bootstrap failed due to open() behaviour. "Invalid argument".

Maurice avait coiffé ses lauriers, tressés de nuages roses. Il trouvait que cette coiffe lui seyait particulièrement bien lorsque montaient les étoiles.

Le sommeil ne venait pas, il faut dire que Maurice ne profitait plus d'une belle nuit noire depuis longtemps. Les lumières avaient envahi le fond de vallée, éclairant jusqu'aux nuages même en pleine nuit.
