Last week, Sven Hertling from @fizise team presented our paper "Towards Large Language Models Interacting with Knowledge Graphs Via Function Calling" at the KBL-LM Workshop at #ISWC2024

The slide from our presentations shows the start of a function call dialogue of a LLM-based chatbot and a knowledge graph:
user: Extract information from the sentence:
Paris is the capital of France
CHat-GPT: Function Call: search_instance("Paris")
KG: instance_id = 1526, label="Paris", comment="Paris, the capital", type_label="city"
Chat-GPT: function_call: search_instance("France")
KG:instance_id 1234, label"France", ....

Nara is a traditional city with many historical heritages.
The current capital of Japan is Tokyo.
More than 100 years ago, the capital was Kyoto.
And more than 1000 years ago, the capital was Nara.

Yes, the semantic web scales! @ora reports onAmazon has a trillion triple KG that tracks orders and fulfillment for tracking and analysis. #iswc2024 #iswc

Let the LLM interact with the KG by function calls that directly
reflect the state of the KG to enhance quality.
In our paper "Towards Large Language Models Interacting with Knowledge Graphs Via Function Calling" at the KBL-LM Workshop at #ISWC2024, Sven Hertling is providing a playground for testing.

Thus, a function search_instance which expects some
text is needed. The result of such a function needs to be a textual representation of possible candidates in the KG which contains enough information to disambiguate the entities. Thus, the
identifier (URL), the rdfs:label and rdfs:comment are included in the result. A simple SPARQL query is shown in Table 1. The result of the SPARQL query is a mapping between the selected
variables and the possible substitutions, which need to be serialized as text for the LLM. We implemented all serializers available in RDFLib, which are CSV, JSON, TXT, and XML
