I've really been enjoying this series on the history of jazz. I'm an authentic jazz dancer rather than a Latin jazz dancer, but I've always wondered about the reasons for the very different rhythms. Fascinating to understand more of the historical context.

Long before digital cams came along with ultra high ISO capabilities, we had to "push" our films when shooting in low light. The futher you pushed, the more colors would shift. This was originally shot on Ektachrome 200 slide film, I think, pushed to about 12,500 ISO by altering the processing times in my own darkroom. I have done a less than acceptable job of digitizing this one but you get the idea...
