I just noticed in the #Jellyfin video player, it tells you at what time the movie will end.
Very convenient, I don't think I've seen any streaming platforms do that. I guess "Ends at 2:13 AM" doesn't keep people watching. #ux #UXDesign
Seeing a YouTube video about Jellyfin with someone wondering why they had issues with Fleischer Popeye and Superman shorts. Because they're treating them as TV shows and not the movies that they are? (Seen same online about Plex/Jellyfin users struggling with organizing Looney Tunes.)
Y'all that have been following me for a bit know that I'm slowly adding customizable colors to #Jellyfin for #Roku.
This has been a HUGE undertaking!
So will someone explain to me why on top of that I'm now adding the ability to import the colors from the custom CSS setting on the server?!?!?!
I fear I've lost of mind. 😆
WELP, unless my husband finds another DVD wallet. Ive ripped our entire collection of TV, Movies and Anime. The last couple of movies are transcoding now, and should be on the #Jellyfin server shortly. Only been working on this since October?
Really adore how #Jellyfin insists that the 1985 "Clue" film is both a "crime" movie and a "thriller". (Continuing adventures in ripping all our DVDs)

@mettlife drop #plex for #jellyfin 😉
Good luck on your journey brother #homelabber
I'm a very satisfied #jellyfin user. I have my music and movie files shared there. I use different clients: a rpi 5 with kodi and jellydin plugin; an old RPI B with volumio; in android, finamp and also share with dlna.
I presume the venn diagram is tiny, but is anyone waiting for a Jellyfin app for the VisionPro?
I've pushed my changes to the bookshelf plugin #jellyfin which adds a lot of #audiobook support.
It will get metadata from both Google Books and OpenLIbrary. Also grabs author information from OpenLibrary.
Screenshots are of the updated book metadata and the author's page.
Should be considered beta, but it's usable. If you're up for testing let me know how it goes.
This past weekend, I upgraded at #SaskTel from a #Samsung #s10e to a #Google #Pixel9. Here are the #Fdroid apps I have installed so far:
#Joplin
#HeliBoard
#Unciv
#Syncthing-Fork
#AVNC
#AvesLibre
#Catima
#Thunderbird
#Jellyfin
#NewPipe
#KDEconnect
#Mastodon
#OsmAnd+
#KOreader
#Droid-ify
#Finamp
#AudioRecorder
#Lawnchair
#MaterialFiles
#Eternity
These are a great selection of apps.
I've been having issues with #jellyfin lately: it just refuses to fully scan the music library.
After adding songs and running a full library scan, it does show the new songs, but they refuse to play. I can download the song and eventually make it play, so it's not a permissions issue.
To make a song scan properly, I have to run the scan again and again and try to play it while the scan is running.
I use docker (ghcr.io/linuxserver/jellyfin) and the music is stored on an NFS mount.
Does anyone else have similar issues?
I wrote a #python client for #Librofm https://codeberg.org/bfordham/librofm
Using #jellyfin I naturally wanted to put the #audiobooks I've purchased on it. And I didn't want to do it all by hand. Then things kinda spiraled, they way they do when you write software for fun as well as for work.
Hopefully folks will find it useful.
DUNE a Google TV client for #Jellyfin https://github.com/Sam42a/DUNE
Same with pictures. Would be cool to have #jellyfin let you group in albums, and maybe let you select a location. More things to play with.
I’m hoping to play around with the #audiobook support in #jellyfin. The information on books is great, I’d love to see something similar for audiobooks.
Set up a #jellyfin server a few weeks ago and, honestly, it’s more fun than it has any business being. I bought a cheap DVD player and have ripped a box full of movies. Wrote a couple scripts to make ripping and tagging movies and TV Series much easier. It’s great to host things and have them so organized and available.
