I'm listening to the Gentlemen of the Road audiobook for the first time, but this book has been a favorite of mine for well over a decade. The story is fantastic & the prose is impeccable. I mean just look at this, opening sentence of all time:

For numberless years a myna had astounded travelers to the caravansary with its ability to spew indecencies in ten languages, and before the fight broke out everyone assumed the old blue-tongued devil on its perch by the fireplace was the one who maligned the giant African with such foulness and verve.

I enjoyed the utopian short fantasy story Seven Commentaries on an Imperfect Land by Ruthanna Emrys, which is available free online, with charming art by Scott Bakal. For everyone who wants enchanted parallel worlds.

Family life sucks - my very ill father-in-law is now in hospital. I’m struggling to find time for my WIP, with hospital visits, mother-in-law, work and ‘everything else’. But I’m now itching to finish off writing my next book - currently at around 64K words.

It features a missing woman, a Jewish-Muslim interfaith charity project, sinister goings-on & possible murder(s). All set in and around London, England.

The Redeemer was shortlisted for Best Debut Crime Novel of 2022 in the 2022 Crime Fiction Lover Awards.

A recent magazine review in the USA wrote: ‘Faye Kellerman – behold your British counterpart.’

Threatening fake historic markers, vigilante killings, a Jewish community – what’s the link? The clock is ticking to the next murder.

Finally getting close to the halfway mark of my WIP. I’m speeding up - slowly - now I’ve done some more planning, plotting and characterisation.

Recent good news about The Redeemer and some amazing publicity opportunities are nudging me forwards.
