According to estimates, there are between 17,000 and 25,000 Iranian Jews living mostly in larger cities such as the capital Tehran as well as Isfahan, Shiraz, Hamedan and Tabriz. The actual number could be even higher though.

Next to Israel, Iran has the largest number of Jewish people in the Middle East. Iran’s parliament, called the Majlis, has one reserved seat for the Jewish community.
