"I've played Glastonbury many times and the festival has always had a political
aspect.

"It was founded as a place of free expression and political activism and it's a fact
that I agreed to play there with The Smiths in 1984 purely because to do so at
the time was a political act.

"We are living through very troubling times, but for anyone who's been
interested in me or my music over the last 40 years, I feel like my political
stance has always been very clear.

"Oppression fears artistic expression. I respect all musicians who use their
platform to speak out against injustice, who promote compassion and equality
and give voice to the voiceless.

"I stand with my audience and fellow musicians who call for an immediate end
to the atrocities and a free Palestine.”

Seven songs from the William Bloke sessions, released as a limited edition “mini-album.” Johnny Marr joins on “The Boy Done Good” and gets co-writing credit. Also included is a cover of “Never Had No One Ever” and two remixes by Moodswings.

Worth the price of admission just for the Johnny Marr track and The Smiths cover, but really not a bad track on this EP.

My copy – via Academy Records in NYC – is the 2024 Record Store Day reissue on blue-orange split vinyl.

Last year, my wife bought me tickets to see Johnny Marr in Hammersmith. It was an awesome show, and as it turns out, it was recorded and now released for the last Record Store Day! And, Johnny is putting on a show a lot closer to home (for me) this year, so we'll get to see him in Berlin this year!
