Aspidochelone is a folkloric creature usually described as a giant turtle with an entire island on top of its shell. Weary travelers, thinking they can land safely, will inevitably be shaken off or downed when the creature submerges.

The Roc is a species of giant bird from Middle Eastern folklore and literature known for preying on elephants and other large animals. Marco Polo identified their home as Madagascar while it was later claimed their hunting grounds were in the seas of China.

The Biolater is a plantlike creature that grows into a Kaiju’s skin/scales like a creeping vine.

Kaijune Bonus: Lou Carcolh.

Lou Carcolh is a giant creature from French folklore described as a combination of a snail and a serpent. It lives underground and uses the long tendrils that surround its mouth to reach above ground to capture human victims, spreading slime everywhere as it does.

Thunderbirds are giant supernatural birds found in the legends of several Nations of the Aboriginal Peoples of North America, particularly in the Pacific Northwest Coast.

Kaijune Bonus: Kraken.

A giant sea monster that originated in Scandinavian folklore. The Kraken is usually depicted as a giant cephalopod (squid or octopus), though early reports and art showed it as some kind of giant crab. I decided to mix the two visually, with a bit of other sea creatures thrown in.
