#kde6

I've uploaded a new/fixed #kde6 liveslak ISO #slackware #liveslak, my last one shipped a few old packages, so I cleaned things up and put up a new ISO that's fresh out of the box. There's also an updated #nwgshell ISO uploading right now, that will be available momentarily, with a fixed default hyprland config, and the latest changes as well. rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/

I put up an updated for #kde6 Plasma 6.4 liveslak ISO for download: rekt.lngn.net/liveslak/ #slackware

Updated my laptop to Plasma 6.4 and all seems well. Seems I did good. Pushed an updated freerdp3 & fcitx5-qt to #kde6 to keep with the latest. Fixed up some broken symlinked packages in #lxqt repo since kde upgrades, all is well there. Not a bad little sub-distro thing happening here. šŸ˜ #slackaroni slackware.lngn.net/

Plasma 6.4 is available now for your #slackware current based systems. I messed up the changelogs (and don’t have time to fix them) but we’ve removed ā€˜drkonqi’ and there’s 2 new pkgs ā€˜aurorae’ & ā€˜kwin-x11’. Please add drkonqi to your blacklists and remove the 6.3.5 release! #slackaroni #kde6 slackware.lngn.net/

I pushed #kde6 Frameworks 6.15.0 a few hours ago for x86-64 & arm64 #slackware current systems. As previously noted, I skipped adding the python bindings so there’s no new packages this round. We’re ready for Plasma 6.4 in the coming days! #slackaroni slackware.lngn.net/

2025-06-16

After starting a clean build with the flag in a better location so all pkgs adhere to it, the damn frameworks just happily build. Well, that settles it, I’ll skip adding 4 new packages for now if and until there’s an actual need/want for python bindings. There’s already like 500 packages here, we don’t need no drama. #kde6 #slackware

2025-06-16

I was given a list of like 9 packages I need to skip python bindings in with #kde6, only even skipping them it was still failing. Now I haven’t tried many systems, just one build container, and I haven’t added it to the main cmake call (maybe better choice) —BUT I did get pyside6 building (with the ugliest script ever) which needs more love yet but I’ve got enough to actually test if it works now before I do real builds. Anyway, coffee is on… let’s do this!

I tried to disable it, and it was a no go. Guess it’s not an option on Linux. :( #kde6

2025-06-13

#kde6 Frameworks kcoreaddons 6.15.0 appears to now dep on pyside6/shiboken6 being available on the system. I’m unavailable to start packaging up new deps today so we’re going to hold off until my day off for upgrading to the latest frameworks release until I have the time to package this all up over the weekend.

Did some auditing on #kde6 installs, and all seems well. Doesn’t appear I have missed anything, no broken packages, etc. So we will next be going into Plasma 6.4 which if you’ve used/using the beta you know that is fine as well. So looks like things are in the clear for the immediate future. #slackware

As of right now the server is creating the meta-data for #kde6 gear 25.04.2 and a few poppler rebuilds as well. Should be avail momentarily. Of course if you were using arm64, you’d of had it yesterday when I uploaded it. I don’t make the rules. slackware.lngn.net/

Forgot to post, but I’ve pushed the fixes for qt6 to #kde6 and #kde6-unstable repos for your Wayland sessions. slackware.lngn.net/

I'd built an updated #kde6 #liveslak with Plasma 6.4 Beta 2 the other day, and forgot to post it. So, I built a new one today, with the latest updates to #slackware current included and actually uploaded it this time! mega.nz/folder/dgYBBbTZ#Y5yyGK

Found Diamond 2.0.3 for KDE4 in some old backups and uploaded it to Codeberg in a zip file. Later it will be organized. I forgot this version existed and didn't know just how lost the Diamond theme was.

Ok I’ve uploaded rebuilds for the libxml2 update within #slackware to the #kde6 repo just now as well as rebuilds of appstream & flatpak if you’re utilizing the #flatpak sub-system which is also available. #slackaroni slackware.lngn.net/pub/x86_64/

2025-06-01

#slackware had a big libxml2 upgrade today, and as such many packages needed rebuilt against it. But luckily, the old lib was added to the ā€œaaa_libarariesā€ package for backward compatibility for a short time. It is safe to update your systems even though I’ve not pushed rebuilds yet. I’ll get updated packages out ASAP. #kde6 #slackaroni

So the #kde6 unstable repo now has Plasma 6.3.91 (6.4 beta 2). I’ve removed ā€˜drkonqi’ as it requires systemd and patching to build isn’t going to fix the issue with it regardless. Enjoy! #slackaroni slackware.lngn.net/

2025-05-28

There’s some more things that need repair but they are not operational issues. There’s a few documentation problems that need cleaning up but I’ve run out of time to play for the next few days, so we’ll get to them eventually. #kde6 #slackaroni slackware.lngn.net/

2025-05-28

I will not be pushing rebuilds for Plasma 6.4 beta repo, as a new release happens tomorrow, so we will fix them up when I post the packages this weekend most likely. #slackaroni #kde6 #slackware

I'd been poked and prodded at today regarding issues with libexec file locations within #kde6 and shipping systemd service files within the packages. While, yes the libexec location is wrong, but I don't agree about removing the sysd files, if only because one could use systemd on their slackware, who am I to decide what users want? Alas, I removed them anyway, and am fixing libexec locations within KDE. These will be the next #kde6 updates, after some testing.
