Hello @knitting community, can you help me out with some inspiration?

I have a bunch of scrap (about half a ball each) sock yarn, all self striping, self texturizing. I'm looking for ideas (and possibly patterns?) to knit something other than socks with it.
Leg warmers? Phone pouch? Something else entirely?

I'd prefer something I can actually use (wear) instead of a "vanity" project (a tea cosy would be pointless for example, what with me having no teapot to cosy up).

Thankful for any input. 🖖🏻

Out sick and away from the computer helped my #crocheting this week ....

Another #crochet #wip is now completed. A #gingham style #throw using the #griddle #stitch and carrying the three #colors of #yarn along.

Super easy stitch although this pattern does, slightly, show the yarn being carried. Great pattern to work on when binge watching TV.

I might add another row or two on the border. 🤔

In an effort to help with funding for flood recovery, I am selling this hand-made wooly lace shawl!

Pattern is Ashton shawl by Dee O'Keefe.* Added another leaf motif row before doing the border. Measures a general 60 by 30 inches.

100% wool, so it will be itchy to some folks. Yarn is KnitPicks Palette Fingering held double. Unknown color because I found the yarn at a local Goodwill years ago, but it is a nice neutral brown

I am selling this lovely thing for US$500, starting price. All proceeds for this will go towards my flood recovery, namely buying myself a bed.

“Create in me a clean heart, O God, & put a new & right spirit within me.” Psalm 51:10

This is the first bit of Scripture I’ve encountered in #ContemplativeKnitting & it both condemns & challenges me. I sat with it as I #knit (my #WIP is a #TaffyShawl ) most of the day & it still makes me uncomfortable. I found it hard to focus on the words & my mind kept wandering.

I tend to cling to things way past the point of usefulness. My heart & mind are bound up in the habits & patterns of the past, most of which no longer serve me. A clean heart would mean letting them go, & also releasing those who taught them to me. It’s scary.

Being in the process of starting a new business, I find myself caught up in wanting to do things “right”. It’s a common issue for me that often becomes an excuse for not doing anything or giving up. I’m so afraid of making a mistake. What I need to do is trust that God will help me fly.
